You’ve heard me talk about how mornings around this house are crazy and rushed. I’d venture to say that a lot of households these days are experiencing the same things in the mornings. Or, maybe this is what I tell myself every morning in order to feel better. Either way, we do not usually indulge in a luxurious breakfast on the weekdays. However, the weekends are my favorite because breakfast really is my favorite meal of the day.
Weekends are usually meant for planning fun adventures, sleeping in and cooking up some bacon. Along with that bacon we have another love… cinnamon rolls! Now, we don’t serve up just any cinnamon rolls on the weekends, I love using the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls. I’m sure you have seen my post about how to make 30 second cinnamon rolls? Wait, you haven’t? Then you have to go check it out! I use Pillsbury for those as well.
On certain special weekends, I love to buy the Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls. They take after their name and bake up very large. However, I take it a step further and turn them into hearts! The boys really enjoy the shape and I tend to think they bake up a little softer. I also only bake them for about 13 minutes instead of the suggested time of 16-20 minutes. We like our cinnamon rolls to be super soft and maybe just a little gooey.
HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE CINNAMON ROLL HEARTS
Want to make these cute hearts for yourself? All you have to do is take each individual roll and unroll it halfway. Keep the one side rolled. Take your flattened out side and tight roll it towards the other roll. Once they meet in the middle you simply take your fingers and pinch the end in order to form the tip of the heart. Like I said before, we bake them on a cookie sheet for less than the suggested time (only about 13 minutes). I put the icing on immediately after in order to get the full roll covered because we all love the icing!
Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls are available nationwide in major grocery and retail stores. For more information, visit www.pillsbury.com/weekendbreakfast, www.Facebook.com/Pillsbury and @Pillsbury on Instagram and Twitter
How about your family? What are your weekend morning breakfast traditions?
Oh yummy! My mom makes cinnamon rolls every Christmas for everyone in the family. They are so good!
Growing up, my mom always made cinnamon rolls on Sunday mornings. I loved that when I was a kid.
Those look adorable AND delicious. There’s really nothing better than a hot cinnamon roll.
I think making heart shaped cinnamon rolls is the best idea ever. They already make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside when you eat them.
Those turned out so cute! And they are so easy, too.
love these! I almost thought they were elephant ear pastries. My boys would go wild for this breakfast.
My kids love to have cinnamon rolls on the weekend. I am gong to give this a try. it is so cute!
Heart-shaped cinnamon rolls would be a hit around here. Last time we had Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls, we scarfed them up in the regular pinwheel shape. Bacon adds the perfect touch.
That is so sweet looking. Love the design of a heart. I will try that.
So sweet! My little loves would get a kick out of the heart-shaped treat.
Oh yum. These look amazing! Who doesn’t love cinnamon rolls and as hearts? My kiddos will love this.
These would be neat to make on Valentine’s Day and on Anniversaries. Thank you for this neat idea to enhance the common cinnamon roll into a romantic effort.
These are SO cute! What a wonderful, simple idea that completely transforms the rolls.
These are so cute! I am going to pin these for Valentine’s Day.
What a cute idea to turn these into heart! I’ve made these rolls in our waffle iron and my boys call them the best waffles ever.
I am a sucker for a good cinnamon roll. These look so yummy!
These are so cute. They’d be perfect for valentine’s day.
Well they do turn out cute, don’t they? And that frosting makes the rolls. Mm mm good.
My family loves Pillsbury’s cinnamon rolls. I make them on Sunday mornings when I make big breakfasts for my family & relatives (eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, etc. – it’s kind of a buffet style breakfast and the cinnamon rolls all disappear!)
I’m going to surprise them with this heart shape. THANKS 🙂
