Just in case you didn’t know, this past week has been Nurse Appreciation Week. We have so many friends and family members in our lives that are nurses and we are so thankful for them. What a difference they make for so many people every single day.
I was recently part of a special mission, thanks to Pampers, in order to surprise an entire night shift of nurses at our local NICU. I can tell you that those nurses are super hard workers. I could never do what they do and I am so amazed with how much professionalism they have and how the handle every situation up on that 6th floor. I have a contact that works as a nurse at the NICU. She told me a few of the things that nurses would really appreciate. So, I filled a giant bag full of cups, snacks, chapsticks, lip glosses and Starbucks gift cards. After I delivered the huge basket full of goodies I received a sweet message from the nurse the next day. She told me that the night I dropped off the gifts was a particularly hard night for them. The NICU had 55 babies and she said it was a much needed pick-me-up for everyone. I am just thrilled that I was able to give a little bit of a bright spot to those who do so much for others every single day.
Just like we trust the gentleness of the nurses who helped us through all of those scary and sweet moments, the nurses and hospitals trust the gentleness of Pampers Swaddlers on all of those precious newborn babies. I’ll never forget that tiny little Pampers diaper being wrapped around a tiny little waist and skinny little legs. What precious and sweet memories.
PAMPERS THANK YOU NURSES
Pampers partnered with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses in order to put on the first annual Thank You Nurses campaign. Nurses were nominated in three different award categories: Neonatal, Labor and Delivery and Postpartum. Anne Gallagher, a L&D nurse for 38 years, was the grand prize winner! Make sure to check out as well as the campaign.
I think that’s such a great idea. Nurses are the backbone of any medical practice.
What a nice thing to do. I am sure they can use the Starbucks coffee on those late nights.
I think it’s so important to remember ALL the people who make things happen for us. I love this nurse thank you. They don’t get enough recognition.
Oh wow what an amazing thing to have been part of and a lovely idea to surprise such amazing people. x
My daughter recently had a baby and the nurses were so great. I can’t imagine having a baby in the NICU or being a NICU nurse. Those nurses have to be so caring.
This is so sweet. I can’t imagine how hard the NICU (and all nurses) work. It’s such an amazing job and they deserve all the rewards!
What a beautiful campaign. Nurses have such a difficult job and definitely deserve to be spoiled.
This is such a beautiful post and what a wonderful campaign to share. I am in awe over how much nurses do for people!
I can’t imagine how hard it is to be a nurse. It’s always nice to step back and tell them how appreciative we are of their great work.
I can only imagine the love and the effort that nurses give to their patients. I know it’s their job to do so, but still, it’s not an easy task especially when your patient is not in their best condition. These nurses deserve to be recognized, I’m glad Pampers is taking the initiative to honor them. I’m sure you felt proud to be part of it too.
We have FOUR nurses in my family (3 of my sisters are RN’s!) and I was an LPN before becoming a full time blogger. I can not tell you how much they appreciate these acts of kindness. It’s hectic and stressful job!
This is a great way to show Nurses some appreciation. I have many friends that are nurses and they work so hard.
What an awesome good deeds! We are Nurses should do our job with a heart yes it’s not easy but we need to be patient especially for our patients. We love do our job. Pampers is really amazing
This was such a sweet thing that you did. I would have never thought to do something like that. Nurses definitely deserve to be appreciated.
Nurses are the best. Doctors make the big calls, but nurses are the support in everything that happens to a patient. The work crazy hours. They care!
What a wonderful way to appreciate nurses!
