L’ANGE Aplatir Straightener Review: Is it Worth the Hype?

January 31, 2019 by Felicia

First of all, let me start this by saying I purchased the L’ANGE Aplatir Straightener with my own money and am NOT being sponsored by them in any way. This purchase was made after many months of research and determining what was going to be the best bang for my buck.

If you are on social media and generally look at beauty products, then I bet you have seen at least one gorgeous girl on either Facebook or Instagram talking about the L’ANGE products. I was seeing them everywhere and wondered myself if I should buy into the hype. You see, I was on a mission to find a budget friendly flat iron that had 3 important things: a heat setting, tourmaline ceramic plates, and floating plates. So, after comparing and contrasting all over Amazon and the internet, I decided to bite the bullet on the L’ANGE Aplatir Straightener when it went on sale for $29. I figured if I spent $29 and hated it, it wouldn’t be that bad of a loss.

Why the L’ANGE Aplatir?

From my research, I knew that I needed a flat iron that would allow me to adjust the heat to the maximum of 360 degrees. Why? Well, anything over 360 degrees and your hair starts to become damaged. I also knew that the titanium plates were overkill for my hair. The mission was to keep my hair as healthy as possible, but find an appliance that worked efficiently and easily. The bottom line is that you do not need a titanium plated flat iron unless you have extremely coarse and hard to manage hair. I have thick hair, but it is not extremely coarse. Anything above and beyond was only going to damage my hair.

Is it Worth the Hype?

My answer to this is an easy YES! Now, with that being said, I would never ever pay full price for the Aplatir. They go on sale ALL them time and it is worth the wait to purchase this for less than half price (I think they are advertised at $99 full price). I appreciate how easy it glides through my hair, the size, how quickly it heats and the quality of the curl (I do not use the flat iron to straighten, but to curl). I can say that I was using a much pricer iron before this one and I love this one more!

How to Curl with a Flat Iron

The answer to this is more easily answered via video. If you will venture over to my Instagram page and click on the “Beauty” highlights I have 2 tutorials on how to do so. One of them features the L’ANGE and even gives my review of the product. However, the basic concept is to start holding the flat iron with your fingers showing towards you, do one half rotation and pull for waves and one full rotation and pull for curls. It honestly is easy and takes just a little practice. Once you get the hang of it you will be grabbing your flat iron and forgetting about that curling iron! The curls just seem to hold a lot longer and also seem to be more flowy.

Have you tried any of the L’ANGE products? I’d love to hear what you think below.
