Hey there guys! I am not one for resolutions or things of that nature, so you won’t see anything like that over here. However, I do want to share with you what I have learned this past year about how to have healthier hair and what products I am currently using. Here’s the great part… you can buy all of it from the drugstore (Walgreens being my personal favorite because of the money you can earn back).
So, here’s what I have learned after much trial and error on what works! Just ask my hair dresser. She will tell you that my hair remains healthy even when I have skipped several months of a trim! When you are busy that’s just what happens, am I right?
AVEENO PURE RENEWAL SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
I made the switch to sulfate free this summer and I haven’t looked back. I only wash my hair every 3 days and us a little dry shampoo in between. The trick is to shampoo twice and focus on the scalp and not the ends of your hair. I only use about a dime size amount. When you use the conditioner use it just once and focus more on the ends of your hair.
NYM MATCHA GREEN TEA & WILD APPLE BLOSSOM NUTRIENT RICH BUTTER MASK
I use this product about once a week. When I use this mask I skip the Aveeno conditioner. After shampooing I will put this in my hair focusing mostly on the ends and then put it up in a clip. I will finish with my shower and rinse this out at the end.
OGX COCONUT MILK ANTI-BREAKAGE SERUM
I use this after showers on damp hair. I work it into the ends and then comb it through. This truly does save your hair from breaking. I also will apply a small amount on the ends of my hair if I am going to be curling in order to protect from the heat.
Now, when it comes to dry shampoo I don’t have one particular favorite as of yet. I have definitely been focusing on sulfate free and am currently loving the OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Dry shampoo and the NYM Clean Freak. I love both of them and would likely just choose the one that is on sale. I will say that NYM Clean Freak now has tinted versions which is very appealing to me due to my brown hair. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure that it works well!
So what are your tips? What products are working for you? I love it when you share. Also, if you follow me over on Instagram you can find my hair care routine as well as how I create beachy waves with the flat iron.
Great read.I think I will also start using a serum on my hair.
For years I didn’t think I needed to use quality products on my hair, what a difference it makes when I do. I also love how you titled this post. Not everyone is into making new years resolutions.
My favorite dry shampoo is Dove. I like the way it smells and it works really well on thin hair to give it some volume!
