First of all, I want to start this post by letting you know that I am NOT a LipSense distributor.  Now, I am not saying that it is a bad idea.  I actually think it could be a very good idea, but I am not one.  I also want you to know I purchased this product because I thought it was a great value.

I made a YouTube video for you guys letting you know my honest LipSense review and tutorial of the basics.  It is a long video, but it really is worth it if you are interested in what all of the LipSense hype is or if you are seriously just wondering how to apply the stuff.

Here’s the deal, I have been seeing this stuff gain traction on Facebook for a while now.  It has been growing and growing and I truly love all things lip related (glosses, lipsticks, balms, etc) and I couldn’t stand it anymore.  I had to give this stuff a try.  Now, for those of you who have never heard of or seen LipSense it is the most amazing lip color that truly is smudge proof and lasts virtually the entire day.  You think it is too good to be true?  Make sure you watch my video (be warned, I am sick and have no makeup in this video).

Basically, LipSense works by applying three THIN layers of the product to your lips.  The key is to keep the color thin, apply to the waterline as well and let the coats dry in between.  You need to wait a few seconds between applying each layer.  The first thing I noticed was a slight tingle.  I will say that this was less and less the more I used LipSense.  I also noticed that my lips were a bit sticky at first.  This also went away after a few minutes.  The product just needed time to dry.

Once you have your three layers of color on, you will apply the gloss.  The gloss is what helps to moisturize and keeps your lip color staying strong all day long.  I found myself reapplying the gloss only a few times throughout the day (after a lot of water and after eating).  And yes, this really did last all day without re-applying.  ALL DAY!

The lip colors are vast and range from neutrals like the one I’m wearing (called First Love) to very bold and bright that are gorgeous!  You can also decide on a glossy or matte finish on your gloss.  They even have limited edition diamond gloss and other fun add-ons.

The next question you have is, how much is this and how do I get it.  Well, it is $55 for the starter kit.  While you may be thinking that is a hefty price tag, let’s break it down.  For $55 you will receive a lip color, lip gloss and the remover.  You really have to have all three and they last a long time!  From there, you can add lip color for $20 a pop.  Now, this lip color will last you at least 6 months.  Make sure to compare that to what you spend and how quickly you go through lip color now.  You are likely going to be spending the same amount or even saving.
