Green cleaning is something I never really thought about until my first baby came along. Before that, I just focused on what would get the job done at the lowest price. That is the truth! But, when Graham was born it is like the entire world changed. He was putting everything in his mouth and I was cleaning like a crazy person. It wasn’t until one of my friends asked the question about what I used to clean up behind him that I really started to think about it all. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not an “over cleaner” and I will still use bleach on things. You can’t stop me! But, I am cautious about what I am using that will be coming in contact with my tiny humans.
The problem with “green cleaning” for me has been two fold. First, the cleaners you purchase are generally expensive! Who can afford $5 a pop on a multi-surface cleaner? Not me. The next problem I had was them not being quite as effective as my “non-green” cleaners. I started making my own at one point which was the best solution, but now I want to let you all in on a little secret that is about to take over Walmart… Great Value Natural cleaners!
So, if you are not into making your own cleaners and just want a quick solution that doesn’t involve spending your life savings just to clean your laundry then you are going to want to check out this new line. So far Walmart is offering: Multi-surface ($2.47), glass, laundry ($8.97), and dish gel ($3.97) in the Great Value Natural line. I have used them all and can say that I am pleasantly surprised by how well they work. Multi-surface cleaners seem to be what I use the most of and this one is working out great for us. I also appreciate that Walmart took this to the laundry room. That seems to be the most expensive cleaning product we buy. Keep your eyes open for even more products to hit the shelves as time and research takes place.
These products are made from a plant-based, all-natural Evolve® cleaning technology. Evolve® is the very first plant-based technology to actually be laboratory tested to be as efficient in cleaning as those popular petroleum-based cleaners, detergents, degreasers and solvents. These products are currently being sold at over 2,000 Walmart stores. Can’t find them in your local store? You can purchase them online!
How important are green cleaning products to you?

I love this! So great to see Walmart being conscientious of our environment.
Rosey says
We’d probably use the multi-cleaner most too. Great to hear about the new product line.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I’m not as green as I could be, but when it comes to cleaning products I am all over it. I don’t want my kids or my dog playing on the floor in god knows what.
Jennifer @TheRebelChick says
I really had no idea that Walmart was going to start offering their own line of natural cleaners! I hate spending so much on natural cleaners and am always looking for coupons and sales, etc. What a great way to safely clean without breaking the bank!
Jessica says
First of all I love the fact that this line is going to be available at Walmart. It’s great to see more products like this available in stores that I actually shop at. When it comes to use green products in our home it is very important to me. I don’t like using all of those harsh chemicals around my family or my pets!
Kecia says
I had no idea Great Value offered a natural product line. I too decided to get greener with my cleaning once my first son was born. Before, I didn’t think much about it, but once I became a mom I was paranoid about exposing my baby to too many chemicals.
Demetra says
Great, I glad that Walmart has a green cleaning line. Finally safer products that won’t break the bank.

We try to stay away from harsh chemicals in our cleaners because of our animals and it’s been expensive to do so. I did not know that Walmart sold them!! I’m checking that out tomorrow!!!!
Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
I have to admit that I don’t make myself use green cleaners as much as I should. I usually just grab the same old chemical-laden crap because it works. I’m into the multi-purpose sprays big time too, so if this works, I’m willing to try it!
Brandy says
This would be great for my middle child. He has super sensitive skin and in the Winter I do too. Great product, I will see if we have it locally.
Liza @ Views From the 'Ville says
I love seeing when chain brands start making their own generic version of pricier products. It’s always nice to save a little money.
Ashley M says
Funny, it was something I also never considered until my first came along. We also use green cleaning products but I didn’t realize walmart carried their brand.
Stefani says
I have been green cleaning for about 10 years now. I was involved in a home business opportunity where I learned about the harmful chemicals in our cleaners. I rarely buy any chemical that is harmful unless its nail polish remover or something like that.
