Free Printable Teacher Gift Tags for Test Day {$25 Visa GC GIVEAWAY}

January 18, 2016 by Felicia

If you are new here you need to know a few things.  First of all, I am a school counselor by profession.  Secondly, I love to bake.  Finally, I love to cheer!  Well, I was a cheerleader WAY back in the day, but I mean cheer people up.  I especially want to make their day brighter if I know it is going to be a hard one.  I guess the last thing is what led me to the first and is ultimately why we are here with this post today.  You see, test day (or test week rather) is a very dreary day not only for the poor students who are sitting for hours on end, but also for the teachers who are giving the tests for hours on end.  I jokingly said all last week that I would be sick during test week. “I think I feel something coming on.  There’s a tickle in my throat.”

Free Teacher Gift Tag Printable #GiveBakeryBecause

So, I’ve teamed up with my friends from Give Bakery Because in order to bring your fabulous teacher a simple little treat that will make he or she smile!  I mean, why not give a baked good just because, right?  What?  You want to bring me a cookie?  I love you!  The great news is that you don’t have to slave away baking for all those special people.  Just pick up a few goodies from your local grocery store bakery, print off this free printable, and get creative!  Even if you only tie it up with a brown paper bag and string you will have brightened the days of some pretty spectacular people.

For this particular gift idea I decided to use the plastic containers the cookies came in. It really can’t get more simple than that!  Because I work in a school where testing is taking place, I decided I would hand these out to the special people I work with day in and out.  We all put in long hours (many of us might as well just bring our sleeping bags to work).  Starting up a brand new school has its advantages but it is A LOT OF WORK!  So, these teachers deserve much more, but this is the least I can do.

All you have to do is print out the gift tags and grab some decorative ribbon or twine. I really love the red and white baker’s twine, but only had regular twine on hand left over from Christmas.   You will need two tags per container if you are going to do it this way. Tape one to the outside and one to the inside flap so that when the cookies are opened the cute message can still be read. These would be great in a faculty lounge or just given directly to a teacher.

Now, for those of you who do not know the correct way to wrap a box with ribbon, allow me to demonstrate via pictures.

How to a Ribbon Around a Box the Correct Way

First you need to lay your ribbon over the top leaving a little extra for tying.   Then take the rest of your ribbon under the box and halfway up to your first string.

Use your finger to secure it and give it a bend to the side (don’t move your finger). You are now going to take it around the side and under the box while keeping your finger holding it in place.

Once you get the ribbon all the way back around you are going to pull it to where there is excess to tie and cut your ribbon off. Now take that end and pull it under the crisscross you are holding with your finger.

Find the other end of the ribbon and pull tight. Now create your knot and bow. It may take you a few tries before you get the hang of it, but it really is simple to do.

Here’s another tip for parents who do not work in the school system.  We so LOVE to visit with you all, but the reality is that test day especially is a CRAZY day.  If you plan on giving a gift either send it with your child to drop at the teacher’s desk or make sure to just drop it, wave and run.  Drop and run!  Teachers around the world just thanked you and gave your child an A (ok, just kidding about that last part).

See how easy it was to “Give Bakery Because”?  You didn’t even crack an egg or get elbow deep in flour.  You just gave from your heart and believe me… it shows!

Find even more gifting ideas over at the Give Bakery Because Pinterest page.  Make sure to share what you are gifting by using #GiveBakeryBecause so we can all learn and share ideas to brighten days!

This post was sponsored by Give Bakery Because but all ideas and opinions are my own.  Believe me, I have been giving tests for years!  Cookies are our friends.  Always.  I couldn’t make that up!

Now 2 Lucky Go Grow Go readers will win a $25 Visa Gift Card for sharing about the special people in your lives that make every day better!  How simple is that?!  Here’s How:
