There are so many things to worry about when you have a brand new baby. Is he eating enough? Is she sleeping enough? How many dirty diapers has he had? Your mind is literally filled with cabinets full of information that is specific to your baby. This is one reason why pregnant and new mom’s often find themselves forgetting things like where they put the keys, but remembering that they gave their baby a dose of medicine at exactly 9:43pm the night before.
One thing that I stewed over was what to wash my new infant’s clothes in. What kept running through my mind was the fact that my husband suffered from a few skin allergies and I knew that this type of thing was hereditary. I also knew that everything I read spoke about how delicate a newborn’s system is. I soon remembered a conversation with a former co-worker about how she washed all of her child’s clothing in Dreft for the first few months. About a month before Graham’s due date I started washing all of his newborn baby clothes in Dreft.
What I first noticed about it was the wonderful baby powder smell! You notice the smell not only when you pour in the detergent, but also on the clothes. It is light and fresh. Once Graham was born I continued to use the detergent along with Oxi Clean for any tough stains. If you are a loyal follower of Go Graham Go you will know that I have had many posts about how Graham has very sensitive skin. Dreft worked wonderfully for him the entire time we used it. I will definitely be using it again for this brand new baby!
Dreft is available at a store near you and comes in High Efficiency Liquid Detergent, 2X Ultra Liquid Detergent, and Powder Detergent. Visit the Dreft website for some wonderful Laundry Tips. Did you know that if you use fabric softener on your baby’s clothing it could reduce flame resistance on garments labeled as flame resistant?
