Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Play at Home with Daniel iPad/iPhone App

September 10, 2012 by Felicia

Davis has a brand new love called Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.  It is a new series that airs on PBS Kids.  I’m sure you remember Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood from your own childhood (or maybe I am showing my age).  This is a new spin on that beloved classic.  So, when I found out there was a new iPad/iPhone app straight from the show I was so excited to try it out and share it with you.  Davis adores it!

daniel tiger's neighborhood ipad app

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Play at Home with Daniel iPad App takes your child straight to Daniel Tiger’s house.  It takes the basic concepts from the show and lets your child interact and learn.  Here’s what you will find:

  • Bedtime: Put Daniel Tiger to bed, read him a story and do all of the other routine things before bed time.
  • Bathroom: Have Daniel Tiger brush his teeth, turn on/off the water, put toilet paper in the potty and flush and it even features a potty chair
  • Doctor: Play pretend doctor with all of the equipment.  What a great way to get kids used to the checkups.
  • Sticker Book:  All of your kids favorite characters and icons are stickers.  They can place them on a blank canvas of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

This app is only $1.99 and would be perfect for the youngest of iPad users.  I would say ages 2-3 would enjoy this one.

I know! It is such a fun blast from the past. I actually love Mr. Roger’s so much that we would find it on the PBS Kids website for Graham to watch. Davis is not intrigued by much that is on TV, but really really loves this!

Oh no! I haven’t seen any party supplies either. How about going the DIY route? I have found several cute Tiger crafts on Pinterest. You could even make the Tiger cake that Daniel makes in the episode for his dad’s birthday. That would be cute! I think making shoebox trolley’s like Mr. Roger’s used to make would also be an adorable idea. Let me know if you find anything.
