Cold Relief with a Smile! #DrCocoaReliefwithaSmile

October 13, 2014 by Felicia

School started back for us a few months ago and we are now in full swing! That means that we are also in full swing with the germs and sickness. When Graham was in Kindergarten the entire family seemed to stay sick so I started a new rule that everyone immediately washed hands as soon as they walked in the door of the house. I also started reminding Graham to wash his hands anytime he had a free moment. We also did a lot of reminding for him not to touch his face or put his fingers in his mouth.

With that said, sickness still happens and when it does it can sometimes be hard to get kids to take medicine. I can remember being little and my mom forcing me to take some red cough medicine that made me gag. It was horrible! So, I can relate when my kids are hesitant to take something that I know will help them feel better.

So, when I learned about the new Dr. Cocoa for Children medicines for kids ages 4-13, I was excited! It is nice to have an alternative when it comes to flavors. There are three different varieties to choose from: Nighttime Cough+Cold, Daytime Cough+Cold Relief, and Long-Acting Cough Relief. Dr. Cocoa also uses 10% real cocoa in order to give the medicine a real chocolate taste.

We actually had to put one to the test just a few weeks ago and it seemed to do the trick for us and there was no fuss on Davis’s part. After he took the medicine he asked to see the bottle because the taste was so different for him. It was a win/win situation for us all!
