Well you guys, Netflix has done something pretty phenomenal here. They have crossed generations with music and incorporated that into a very well thought out series! Beat Bugs has been filling our screens, home and heart for the past week and I can’t seem to stop humming, “All You Need is Love.”
Seriously, if you don’t have Netflix and you have kids, NOW is the time to invest. There are so many wonderful shows on there right now and many of the ones that come to mind are all Netflix Originals. When I first head the concept of Beat Bugs I was completely intrigued. Then, when I saw that the titles of all of the episodes were famous Beatles songs I thought, genius! However, I was curious how they were going to make certain songs work. For instance, what on earth were they going to do about “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”? I mean really? Well, they figured it out and it was probably one of my favorite episodes.
Davis really gets into these and both of the boys are surprised that I “already” know the songs. How do you know this song mom! They are finally picking up on the fact that these songs are old songs being sung again. What a joy it is to watch these episodes, hear great old songs and know that it is a wholesome show teaching kids about everyday life problem solving. Here’s the deal, they didn’t just get any old singer to sing the songs either. No, you will recognize names like Pink, Sia, Robbie Williams, James Corden, Eddie Vedder and many more! Check them out behind the scenes in the video below:
What a great idea to teach kids about such popular songs that they might not listen to. It’s something the whole family can enjoy together, I love that! Good to know that there are good messages in the shows too. I like the idea of the shows being song titles. I hope we see more of this in the future. Love Netflix!
Yes! We love these beat bugs so much! My kids enjoy them a lot!
Oh my gosh I know my youngest would love this so much. They love music and this is perfect for them.
First of all, that’s so cute! Secondly, I think it’s great to see Netflix helping us expose kids to some of the greatest music of all time.
I love this! SO MUCH! I mentioned The Beatles to a kid the other day, and he said, “Who are they?” I thought I was going to die from shock. =(
I absolutely love the Beatles! I love that Netflix came up with a way to keep the classics alive!
I can’t think of a better way to get kids excited about classic music and create a show that parents wil actually want to watch with their kids than netflix’s beat bugs!
Those shirts are so cute. My kids like the Beatles a lot. They’d probably love this show.
I have two nieces (ages 7 and 10) and this would be a perfect way to introduce them to the Beatles! I’m a huge fan but so is my dad, so I’m sure he’ll appreciate it when he hears them singing out some classic tunes.
This looks like a such fun show. We have not seen this one. We will have to check it out.
This sounds like such a fun new kids show. I love that they keep creating new children’s programs like this. Everyone in my family has Netflix.
This sounds like a show that is great for children and parents to enjoy together! I haven’t heard of it before, so I am glad you put in on my radar. I’ll be sure to catch it when my niece comes over for a visit!
It looks fun and awesome for kids! I’m sure that my son would love it.
There are so many nice shows for kids today. I will show this to my son and I am sure that he will going to like it!
Oh this sounds so fun. My girls love things just like this, we could totally watch this show!
I’m going to look it up and check it out. I’m humming the song now too. 🙂
This looks like such a fun show! I’ll have to check it out for my twins!
A lot of kids will never get to hear the classics and I love that they have made them into something that will better suit their little ears.
I would love to have this for my kids! I enjoy all the oldies and want them too as well. It might not be for the same reasons but still!
So this is kind of like Kidz Bop? Either way, this sounds like a lot of fun!
Sounds like a show our son would love. He’s a big music fan.
I think this is adorable! I believe every generation will be able to enjoy the Beatles they just have to do something creative like this to reinvent their timeless music to the children.
