I’m married to my wonderful husband of 14 plus years, Matthew Carter.  I married him at the ripe old age of 19 and we’ve been together in the mountains of North Carolina ever since!  He spends his days as a project manager for a local steel company.  I am amazed by his handy man talents and often feature his smart ideas!  I have been his biggest fan and he has been my biggest supporter {two college degrees, two kids, a crazy blog life and more}.

We have two children.  Graham {born 2007} and Davis {born 2010}.  Both boys are full of energy, are total stand up comedians and teach me every day.  They have me laughing with their crazy antics on a regular basis.  I have been known to share a few of them with readers over the years.  God has truly blessed us.

I am a school counselor by profession.  Yes, my job remains even in a very uncertain economy for the public school system.  I was lucky enough to negotiate a job share situation from 2007 until 2013 which was such a blessing.  Going back full-time has definitely been an adjustment.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2003 and decided that a career as a social worker was not in my future.  I really wanted to help people on a more personal level.  By people, I meant teens.  So, in 2004 I went back to school to obtain my Master’s Degree in counseling.  Those were some of the toughest, yet most enlightening 2 years of my life.  In 2008 Go Graham Go was created {Go Grow Go in 2013}.  The site started to grow and a new career grew with it.  Social media and being a mom blogger has not only been an eye opener, but it has opened up a world of opportunity for me as well as created friendships that I will likely have forever.

Why Go Grow Go?

This site was originally created to share all of the info I learned while researching products while I was pregnant and after. A few friends of mine were all pregnant at the same time and this site was created to put all of the research in one place for future reference. I had no idea what a blog was when I started, but now, I have created friendships and made connections that will last a lifetime. I not only share my product finds, but share my knowledge as a counselor and my experiences as a mom.  You will find many DIY, recipes and craft ideas that are simple and fun!  Oh, and I believe in seeing things in action, so please don’t make fun of my country accent in my YouTube videos, ok?

This is my philosophy: Make life simple, save money {and sanity}, grow {spiritually, physically, personally}, and go {live life to its fullest}. Go Graham Go started out being a statement about watching my first son grow {Graham} and has become a lesson on how my children encourage me to go and grow daily and was changed to Go Grow Go in 2013.
