I know I may be a little late to the game, but I am finally trying out the paper bag waist trend! I will be honest, I was hesitant on this one because I am so short-waisted. It seems like in order to pull off this look the bottoms need to be high waisted and worn with a shirt tucked in. On me, that is not always the most flattering. So, when I found these two paper bag waist items from Loft the other day I knew I wanted to try them.
PAPER BAG PULL ON PANTS
I was originally drawn to these because of the gorgeous color that works well now and into the fall. I also appreciated how the paper bag part of these wasn’t huge! I feel like it gives my waist a little more length versus just cutting me off. I also wanted to avoid a tie around the waist as those can give the illusion of more bulk. I purchased these in a size small and love how comfortable they are! I would say that these run true to size, although some reviews said that they get bigger with wear (I’m crossing my fingers this doesn’t happen). While these really are pull on pants, they have 2 functioning buttons as well as a zipper.
PAPER BAG BUTTON UP SKIRT
I also loved the look and feel of this skirt. I did not end up keeping it just because the color wasn’t the best on me. I would prefer either a lighter khaki or maybe should have gone with the olive green. However, I loved the length and how comfortable this one was. The buttons are functional on this one and snap closed. I ordered in a size small and would say this fits true to size.
