Summer is right around the corner and we are looking forward to a super laid back time. That means we will be sticking close to home, swimming in the pool, playing in the dirt and watching a few movies on the days we need a little something different. Here are our top 10 movies for kids to watch on Netflix this summer in no particular order:
- The Great Mouse Detective
- The Rescuers Down Under
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame
- Brother Bear
- The Fox and The Hound
- Disney’s Robin Hood
- Atlantis
- The Prince of Egypt
- Gordy
- Free Birds
What’s on your list to do this summer?

This is a great movie list. Looks like you will be having a great summer. I plan on taking a couple weeks off and spending time with family and friends.

We also love to watch movies in the summer especially on the super hot days. My kids are older than yours so we’ll be enjoying BBC series and other movies we missed at the theater during the school year. I recognize all of the movies on your list though as my kids loved them too!

These are some great movie choices. Some days it is just too hot to go out to play and a movie is a good alternative.

We’ve been checking out movies at the library.
I’m going to get them Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mica wants to watch the last 2 movies in the Harry Potter series, Sandlot just because it’s fun (we’ve seen it already), and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (if Mica starts reading it).

My kids are at the age where they actually can sit still through movies. I will have to have them watch these this summer!

I know I should only be thinking of my kids right now BUT I am looking forward to Netflix’s Orange is the New Black. Oh my goodness, the excitement!

That is a great list. Perfect for the kids to enjoy.

What a great list! I love The Rescuers, read the book as a kid. I think I own most of these on DVD< but we usually stream Netflix because it is faster for us than pulling out our DVD"s. Will have to share the list with my kiddos.

I’ve seen all but number 9. I’ll definitely watch it, though, since I’ve seen and loved the other nine movies! Awesome list!
