The Best Banana Pudding Recipe

the best banana pudding recipe

Baking is such a huge part of the holidays for our family.  I really love baking and there is just something about Thanksgiving and Christmas that makes me want to bake around the clock.  So, when I asked my husband what one of his favorite holiday desserts was and he answered with Banana Pudding I was shocked.  While this recipe doesn’t involve baking, it is definitely one we like to make for family gatherings.  Everyone really enjoys it.  Thanksgiving is a big one for this particular recipe and I like to serve it in a trifle dish.  You could easily create this in a casserole dish and line the wafers down the side.

fold in whipped topping

First you will need to beat one 8 oz package of cream cheese until it is smooth.  Next beat in 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 package of instant vanilla pudding, 3 cups of cold milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.  Once they are mixed well you will fold in half of an 8 oz container of whipping cream.

Line your trifle dish with vanilla wafers.  You may need to break them to make them cover entirely.  Place banana slices evenly over the wafers.  Next pour the pudding mixture over the bananas and repeat this process until you have your trifle dish full.  Top this with remaining whip cream and crush up about 4 vanilla wafers to sprinkle over top.  Chill for a few hours so that it is good and cold before serving!

  1. Oh this is a must try thanks!

  2. We make the classic traditional items that everyone loves and then a few surprise dishes, this one sounds like it would be a great hit for the latter. I’m not at home now, just surfing blogs while waiting at my son’s school, but I intend to come back and copy/print the recipe.

    Thanks for the share.
