I am so thankful that I grew up with a very cool uncle who exposed me to all things science and technology at a very young age. He really helped spark an interest and even bought me my first microscope. This particular uncle was an electrical engineer and wanted to make sure I knew all about it. Besides, what kid doesn’t want to see how things work?
Fast forward to my current situation which includes being a blogger by profession. Stumbling upon this was not just something I instantly picked up. It took a lot of hard work (and still does) and I had to teach myself how to code. Granted, what I can do is very basic, but I had to learn the ins and outs in order to save money and be able to handle maintenance on my own. The more I learned the more I wanted to know. So, I’m glad that my boys can start to learn a thing or two about coding at a very early age. How exciting that this is a robot as well!
The Ozobot Bit is a tiny little robot that operates by following color codes. You can use the track that is included, or your kids can create their own using markers and plain white paper. The best part is that you can go online and create your own coding for the Ozobot Bit. This is coding simplified and I love it! The boys literally spent an hour playing with it as soon as I took it out of the box. I can already tell we may need to get another! There are games as well as lesson plans for classrooms, so if you are a teacher this is a cool tool to keep in mind as well.
You can purchase the Ozobot Bit for about $59.95 which is a great price for such an awesome little learning tool. Coding is going to be necessary for our kids. Any way we can get them started early is welcomed.
