I spend a lot of time talking about skincare for myself (mostly over on Instagram). However, I now have 2 boys who are in the tween and teen range which has opened up the world of figuring out a new skincare routine that works for them. You probably already know that everyone has different skin and different things work for everyone. What I want to share is what I have learned that is specific to boys (I don’t have any girls in order to compare). The most important thing about tween and teen boy skincare is to keep it simple! So, when I saw some targeted ads for Stryke Club I made my first purchase and have been pleasantly surprised.
SIMPLICITY!
If you are on this post it is likely because you have been searching for what works for your tween or teen boy when it comes to skincare. I figured out early on that if it wasn’t something very simple it wasn’t going to happen. I loved that Stryke Club was developed by moms who got it! I also appreciated that the ingredients in the products was what I was looking for. It is like they took what could have been a several step process and broke it down into at least just 2!

DOES IT WORK?
I am speaking from experience of two kids who have mild to moderate acne. I am fully aware that there are some kids out there that may need to see a dermatologist in order to get things under control. I believe these products are more for the mild to moderate range. With that being said, they work fabulously! Once you can get your tween or teen using this consistently, you will see results in about 2 weeks.
WHAT’S YOUR ROUTINE?
The routine that works best for my boys is to first wash with the Face First Wash and then moisturize with the Calm Down Moisturizer. We also keep the Stryke Stick on hand for targeted blemishes. This is typically enough to keep things maintained. However, if there are problem areas that are hard to control, my recommendation is the Knockout Adapalene Blemish and Acne Treatment. A word of caution about this stuff… it is HIGH POWERED! So, make sure you are reading the instruction and only using a pea sized amount spread thinly over the problem area. We found that it was best to use this about every 3 days in order to avoid dry skin. I will say, it has truly helped some major problem areas better than anything else we have used! It is 100% worth it. Adapalene is the highest powered Retinoid you can buy without a prescription from the dermatologist.

WHAT ARE THE “MUST HAVES”?
If you are on a limited budget and want to know the absolute musts, it would be the Face First Wash and the Calm Down Moisturizer with the Stryke Stick. If you find that that is not enough, I would add in the Knockout Treatment. My firm belief is that if your tween or teen boy can at least develop a routine of washing and moisturizing, it will combat so much! I especially love the moisturizer from Stryke Club because it includes milder forms of treatment that helps not only moisturize, but keeps new bumps from popping up! It does a nice job of balancing hormonal acne.
