When it comes to the holidays, I think we can all agree that cooking plays a big part. Not only does it mean bringing families together, but it elicits aromas that bring back memories and long standing family traditions are brought to life through food. I can honestly say that 90% of what we make each year is because it is what we traditionally serve. I do try to find one new recipe every year to try just to shake things up. Surprisingly, my grandmother has been happy with the new ones! Whenever I can please a 90-something year old woman in the food department, who is a great cook in her own right, I count it a win!
One of those new Christmas recipes I brought to the table about 10 years ago and it has now become an “old tradition”. Have you ever heard of Apple Kuchen? Well I hadn’t until about 10 years ago when a dear friend shared her long time recipe with me. It is one that my husband and I treasure and make often during the holiday season. It is a new spin on apple pie that is simple and sure to be a winner with kids and adults. I kid you not, every time I bring this over to a friends house they demand the recipe. So, why not share the wealth? Make sure you grab this recipe and share it with a friend or two. Who knows, maybe it will become a new family tradition for you too!

I have never tried Apple Kuchen. For some reason while I will eat a whole apple I do not seem to like apples in recipes. When I was little and would go McDonald’s all my friends were happy because they could take my apple pie! LOL
