When I think back to Christmas growing up there are so many movies and stories that come to mind. However, my absolute favorite has to be Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Whenever it would come on the television it felt like Christmas was finally here! The story is magical and the figures never get old.
So, we Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is one that we share with the boys every single Christmas season. We actually own the box set of DVDs and get them out with popcorn on or near Christmas Eve. I think last year we watched it multiple times. This year is the 5oth anniversary of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and there are a few very special things going on.
Be on the lookout for Rudolph to show up on postage stamps as well as a collector’s edition DVD with new bonus material. If you don’t already own the classics then now would be a great time to grab it! Also, CBS will be airing the show on 12/9 so keep your eyes peeled and mark your calendars!
Some of our favorite items were sent our way just a few weeks ago. They are a collection of books from Square Fish, an imprint of the Macmillan Children’s Publishing group. Two of our favorites include: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Classic Story and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Lift-the-Flap. We enjoy all of them and shuffle them around for night time stories.
