How many of you have those restaurants in town that have been around for a few years but you have not yet experienced them because you are stuck in your same old rut? We are very much that family. You see, once we find a few places that our kids like and we know we will not be causing some sort of crazy commotion if one of them decides to have a complete meltdown we tend to stick to what we know. Zoës Kitchen has been in our town for about a year now and I have always wanted to stop by for a visit but we just never do because of the unknown. The truth is, my husband just works right down the street from the place and he had never been for lunch (even a kid-free lunch).
So, we ventured out last Sunday with the gift card Zoës Kitchen sent our way and we were more than pleasantly surprised! Both Matthew and I went for the Grüben! It was Zoës Kitchen’s version of the classic Ruben sandwich but made with turkey, swiss, slaw, spicy mustard on rye bread. For my husband to bite into something from a restaurant and say, “This is delicious” is saying a lot! He is a pretty tough food critic picking out the slightest hint of too much salt or not cooked well enough. You name it, he will tell you! I went with the pasta salad side and he had the potato salad side. Davis helped himself to a little bit of everything on my plate and enjoyed it very much!
Graham had his usual restaurant meal. The Kids Quesadilla made with American cheese and served with a side of fruit. The kids serving size was so large that he didn’t finish it all. This is not typical of the other restaurants we frequent that offer the Kids sized Quesadilla’s. Generally he is done in 2.5 seconds because they are so small.
We enjoyed our lunch on the porch outside because we had a beautiful day (something that doesn’t happen often around here in the winter). Our food was brought out to us quickly and looked gorgeous. All of this and the price was just as much as any of our other local favorites. We are definitely sold on Zoës Kitchen!
Now one lucky Go Graham Go reader will win a $25 Zoës Kitchen Gift Card! Don’t have a Zoës Kitchen near you? You can win $40 to buy Zoës Kitchen products at your grocery store! Here’s How:
