Neosporin Eczema Essentials Offers Help for Dry Winter Skin

February 6, 2012 by Felicia

If you have been following us for very long here at Go Graham Go then you know that both of my children have suffered off and on with eczema.  They have both experienced it to varying degrees and I would say that they are definitely more on the mild side of the spectrum.  With that said, we have tried many different options over the years to tame the flare ups.  I have had success with a few and I am glad to offer you all another option today that truly does work and is easy on the wallet!

We were given the opportunity to try out the new Neosporin Eczema Essentials line of products over the course of about 2 weeks.  Right now, Graham’s skin is doing fine, but Davis had one quarter sized patch on the back of his shoulder as well as at the base of his neck.  I had been trying my trusted all natural treatments and they just were not producing the results I was hoping for.  So, when we were given the opportunity to try the new Neosporin brand I was definitely eager to see if it lived up to its promise.

After two uses of the Moisture Essentials Daily Body Wash paired with the Eczema Essentials Daily Moisturizing Cream there was a visible difference in Davis’s patches.  By about day three or four the patches were gone.  I also used the Eczema Essentials Anti-Itch Cream the first day on the portion at the base of his neck because he was spending a lot of time scratching.  After the first use he seemed to be doing much better and I have not used the Anti-Itch Cream since that day.

According to Neosporin, these products have really show their stuff in clinical trials and I have to tend to agree just based upon our experience with them.  The Daily Moisturizing Cream was shown in a clinical study to be as effective as the leading prescription* (*vs. the leading barrier emulsion in subjects with mild to moderate eczema with twice daily (or as needed) use.).  It was also proven to show healthier skin in about 3 days which was exactly what we experienced.

None of the products contain any antibiotics and contain ingredients that are gentle and non-irritating.  Again, my children have mild eczema so I can not attest to how this would do with severe cases.  What I do know is that it is definitely worth a try based upon our results and the price point.  Prices range from $8.99-$13.99 depending upon what you are looking for and sizes.  You can also pick up a trial size pack that offers a sampling of everything in order to try it all out inexpensively.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Neosporin Essentials and received a product sample to facilitate my review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.
