Gardening is something we do as a family every year. We have two square foot gardens that we plant veggies in right after Mother’s Day. Graham has really gotten into it this year and was delighted to eat some of our very first squash of the year just last night. Every year it not only provides our family with food, but it also teaches our kids about where food comes from and just how hard it can be to grow. I love that they know our food comes from the earth and not the super market.
Miracle-Gro Kids wants to make sure all kids can get in on the gardening and have created some pretty cool kits that anyone can grow! These are great ideas for the kid who wants to have their very own garden and for those who may not have the land to create an outdoor garden. Besides, gardening kits are just fun!
We were sent the Miracle-Gro Kids Windowsill Greenhouse for review and I am delighted to share it with you. These kits are made for ages 5 and up and will need some adult assistance. Included in the Windowsill Greenhouse was: Greenhouse base, 4 Greenhouse walls, Greenhouse tray, Greenhouse lid, 3 Gro-Pod Containers, Gro-Mix Packet, 3 Plant stakes, Planting Stick, White Cosmos Seeds, Pink Cosmos Seeds, Forget Me Not Seeds, Gro-Chart, Pop-up Plant Information Card & Instructions. All of this retails for about $13.
The kit was easy enough to create with only 7 steps. The Miracle-Gro Gro-Mix is really helpful when you have kids because it is not as messy as dirt and provides some fun entertainment while it is expanding. Once you have everything planted you just place the Windowsill Greenhouse in a sunny spot in your house to watch the flowers grow. The kit even gives you handy instructions for transplanting your flowers.
This would be a great birthday gift idea that is out of the ordinary and keeps kids involved and learning.
