The search for new things to eat in the morning has begun. You see, we just can’t have the economy size oatmeal every single morning even though it is super simple and can be purchased in bulk. The little taste buds in our home are growing weary. So, in the mindset of keeping things simple yet homemade, I have embarked on a new breakfast/snack making journey that involves apple pie filling. Mmmm. Sounds good right? The problem was that I needed to create a pie crust that the boys would love as much as their beloved store bought versions. I’ve tried similar versions of this in the past with not a huge success because of the store bought pie dough. So here goes homemade!

The outcome? My husband put it best when he said the crust had the taste of a buttery biscuit. The boys devoured them and Graham was roaming around looking for more! I would say they were a huge success. If you are looking for an easy pie filling you can purchase the Grandma Hoerner’s Apple Pie filling along with peach and cherry online or in select stores. They are yummy and super easy!
I was provided products free of charge by Grandma Hoerner’s. The ideas in the post are completely my own opinions. For more info please see my terms of use.
