I think my husband has finally realized a dream come true with his boys. You see, before we even had children I had to hear about how much he loved to play with blocks and build things growing up. He was looking forward to having kids who would also share that love… right? Well, Graham not so much. He is slowly coming around to the idea. Davis on the other hand came out of the womb building! Now all three of them can be seen during the evenings at our dinning room table or on the floor building together. Some of Davis’s favorite new building toys are the Mega Bloks Lil’ Vehicles we were sent for review a few weeks ago.
If you are not familiar with the products in the First Builders category by Mega Bloks, you will find tons of brightly colored and oversized blocks that are perfect for little hands from age 1-4. It will depend upon your own child’s fine motor skills on when they will be able to build, but even the youngest kids love to stack and play with the fun characters and vehicles. What a great way to get kids motivated towards using their fine motor skills and practicing important milestones.
This truck was made for toddler speed! Davis can easily grab the easy to grip sides of the dump truck bed and speed around the living room floor and through the kitchen. You have to watch out because he is not going to slow down for much! Whenever he decides to stop for a break he enjoys stacking the blocks on the truck bed and then sends them crashing down. What next? Well, he just flips the bed back and dumps the blocks out to start all over again. The driver wears a hard hat and is removable. $9.99.
Sonny really makes a great pair with Dylan Dump Truck. Again, the top of Sonny is easy for toddlers to grasp and take for a spin around the house. The top of the bus lifts open in order to reveal a space to store all of the blocks. Kids will have fun stacking blocks on top of Sonny’s roof. Sonny’s driver is also removable. Ours often finds his way over to Dylan Dump Truck for a spin or two. You can pick up Sonny School Bus for only $9.99.
If you are looking for inexpensive gift ideas (both are priced right at $10) then either one of these would be a great choice. I love toys that serve multiple purposes and encourage active play and learning. Thank you Mega Bloks for another quality product for the littlest of hands.
Now 2 lucky Go Graham Go readers will win both Dylan Dump Truck and Sonny School Bus! Here’s How:
