Kids Apps for Holiday Travel

Traveling season is upon us and keeping the kids entertained on the road is a priority.  We definitely use the old school “I spy” games and sing songs, but when you are on a super long trip sometimes the iPhones and iPads become our best friends!  Here are a few new apps to check out that are educational and fun.

Ansel & Clair: Paul Revere’s Ride

Love, love love everything Ansel & Clair!  We have had the pleasure of reviewing all of the apps and I, as mom, am super impressed by them.  The amount of information that Graham absorbs from these apps is amazing.  The latest takes kids on an adventure through history like no other.  My favorite is the photo booth which tells all about the people they are learning about {along with funny photos}!  Match states on the map, hear poetry, fill in riddles and more!  Graham has been asking us all sorts of great questions about history thanks to this game.  $4.99 and worth every penny!

3 Little Piggies

Cute for the younger crowd, this interactive story book brings a childhood favorite to life.  I love that the characters and scenes are acted out and go beyond just moving objects.  The ending is also WAY better than the original.  Let’s just say kids will not be afraid to sleep at night.  Choose from modes: Listen & Play, Autoplay and Read Myself.  Great for little hands just starting out with apps.  $2.99.

Witzy’s Friends Forever

What a cute little story book that Davis really enjoys.  As you read through the story you can collect the wishing puffs.  Also included are coloring pages, puzzles and memory cards.  Perfectly priced at only $.99!

These apps were provided free of charge. These are my honest opinions.   I do not post reviews on things I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

  1. This look like some really cute apps, and I will definitely have to try them out for the kids. I love looking for new games and stories for them when we travel. Right now they love to use the DISH Remote Access app that my co-worker from DISH told me about. With that and a Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver, the kids can watch TV live anywhere we go that has 3G connection. They love to watch their favorite shows when we are traveling across town for the holidays, and it is such a lifesaver.
