My mind has quickly shifted to the New Year and all that is to come. I have not yet cleared the tree out, but that will be gone by the end of the week. I love to start fresh and decorate accordingly! If you are looking for a fun way to re-purpose any left over Christmas tissue or wrapping paper you can easily make it into fun streamers to decorate for New Year’s! I created these out of some tissue paper and had our dinning room looking a little more festive in just minutes.
What you will need:
- Scissors
- Tissue or wrapping paper
- Extra paper or card stock (for the template)
- 3 different sized lids or round objects to trace
- Pencil
- Paper clip
- Thread or fishing line
- Push pin or something to create a small hole
Instructions:
Gather up your lids and place them on the card stock letting the smallest lid fall half way off. Trace around the lids.
Cut your template out.
Fold your tissue paper accordion style and paper clip your template to the front. Trace around the template and then cut our your streamers. Make sure not to cut all the way through the top of the template so that your streamers are connected.
Once you have your streamers cut out punch tiny holes at the top and string with thin string or fishing line. We chose to hang ours from the dinning room light fixture. You could also hang them from the ceiling using push pins!
