A 10-hour car ride, a car packed full of sun, beach, and swim gear. 3 excited kiddos. 2
exhausted thrilled parents. 8-days in Florida. And just like that, we were practically in summer-mode, filling our lazy days with copious amounts of pool-time.
That was our spring break last month. A lot had happened since my kiddos last dipped their toes into a pool. I feared that all the swimming “lessons” my husband and I gave them last year would be long forgotten. Spring break worries didn’t last long, though–upon opening my email, my fears fled. As a newly-minted SwimWays Ambassador, my Inbox held a coupon for $5 off a purchase of any three SwimWays products for me to share with y’all. How great is that?! This coupon is valid in stores beginning now, and will expire on 5-31-2013.
I am so excited to officially teach my children how to swim this summer and I know that SwimWays Steps program will help us get there. I can’t wait to share their progress with you while also sharing swimming tips and SwimWays giveaways.
We are kicking off with the National Learn to Swim Day on May 18, 2013. Swimways started National Learn to Swim Day in 2012 with the goal of educating families about the importance and benefits of learning to swim before Memorial Day Weekend and the start of summer.
Not to worry–you don’t have to get into a pool that day (I don’t know about you but it definitely doesn’t feel warm enough yet! Snow? Freezing rain? in May?!) On Saturday, May 18th, Swimways encourages families around the country to participate in National Learn to Swim Day by
- signing children up for swimming lessons,
- hosting a National Learn to Swim Day event or
- committing to learning to swim this summer.
Simple, right? All summer long, Swimways will be working with Mario Vittone, former Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer and instructor and water safety expert, to bring expert water safety tips to Swim Steps’ dedicated website TeachMeToSwim.com. In addition to these tips, families can download free materials and resources on the site, including a swimming certificate, National Learn to Swim Day party invitation, coloring sheets and more.
In the meantime, don’t forget to print the coupon above or enter to win a Swimways packet of swimming gear so you’ll be ready to help your kids splash, kick, and swim their way to success this summer.
