You guys may remember my mantel from Christmas. I had a ton of fun making wreaths this year and one I made was a seasonal yarn wreath. All I have to do is switch out the decorations on the wreath because they are pinned on via bobby pins. So, for the upcoming Easter holiday I wanted to make it an easy switch whenever Easter was gone.
I found colors that I thought were both springy, yet went with our home in order to create the flowers for the wreath. There are some browns in there so even if I wanted to leave this up through the fall I feel like it will work well. The next thing I did was create a few larger pieces that were either free or cheap that I could easily take down and replace with something else or not at all once Easter was over.
The first thing I did was add this gorgeous Vine Bunny from Pottery Barn Kids. It is a bit on the pricey side ($69), but I just adore the look of it and the homey feel it brings. Mine is the small size, even though small is a HUGE understatement. It is 24 inches high and about 13 inches wide! It fits perfectly at the base of my mantle and looks adorable alongside the boys’ Easter baskets. I have to admit that it spends more time at the dinner table than anywhere else because Davis has claimed him as his very own best friend. He eats dinner with us and watches movies alongside of Davis. Cute!
I also printed out a fun printable from Paper Coterie (one of their freebies from last year). It is a Happy Easter pennant with cute little spotted bunnies holding the banner. It works great on the mantel and will be super easy to remove when the time comes.
With all of that, I still needed a touch of something tall and Easter-y on the top of the mantel. I switched out the gold beaded garland in the mason jars for some brightly colored straws and then I used a Sharpie marker in order to free hand a bunny silhouette to put in an old frame. I topped it off with a cotton ball tail and viola! Instant bunny delight! Oh, the cuteness. If you would like to print off the bunny silhouette you may. Remember, it is just a scanned in image of the silhouette I drew so It will not look solid black. You could even cut the image out, trace it and use it for a pattern! I’d love to see your ideas if you do use it.

I like the bunny silhouette. I could even see using grey paper, homemade paper or grey marbled paper in replace of black would be cool to.
