This Christmas if you have a little girl I’m sure that something princess related is on her list. As you know, we have not yet been blessed with any little girls of our own, but I am surrounded by them in our family and by friends.
We were sent the Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle along with two Disney Princess Dolls for review. Graham’s sweet friend Claire was happy to help us out on this review. She came over for a playdate and all of the kids spent most of the day playing with the castle. Claire was the only one interested in the dolls (what can you expect in a house full of boys). Claire was immediately drawn to the castle and all of the beautiful details. When they called this a “Dream Castle” they definitely meant it! Each room is inspired by a different Disney Princess. You will have fun with the Teapots in Belle’s dinning room, Jasmine’s carpet elevator that slides up and down the castle, Ariel’s bathroom with fun bubble sounds, Cinderella’s staircase that features a place for her lost slipper, Snow White’s powder room complete with magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s bedroom with turning, musical fairies and much, much more! The front door has a working doorbell, items can spin on the pink dinning room table and Tiana can serve up her famous gumbo! To make the perfect evening even better, the princesses can dance and spin at the top of the staircase to beautiful music.
The dolls are sold separately, but are equally as magical! Each one of them can easily be changed into two different outfits. We were sent Ariel and Cinderella. I love that Ariel can become a mermaird or a princess! Just twist and flip their outfits. Cinderella goes from her pink dress to her blue. Both are gorgeous.
If I had to point out one negative it would be the price point of the Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle. It is currently retailing for $144.54 on Amazon.com. I realize that this castle is huge (almost 3 feet tall and weighs 19 pounds). It also includes tons of accessories (50 different pieces). So, all things considered, this is going to be an expensive gift and maybe you can locate some coupons since it is Christmas time (or have grandparents go in together on it).
The dolls retail for about $14.99 which is an excellent price for the size and functionality of the doll. You are basically getting two dolls in one.
Overall, the Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle and Disney Princess Dolls would be excellent gift ideas for that special little girl this Christmas. I know she would adore it just as Claire did!
