Ding Dong Diaper Ditch for Our Friends #PAMPERed

Having a newborn is exhausting.  Having a newborn and a 4 year old is even more exhausting!  So, when Pampers had a great idea to “Ding Dong Diaper Ditch” for a family who could appreciate it I was all in!

I remember when Davis was first born and all of the support our church family and friends poured out on us.  I thought I was tired when Graham was a newborn.  I had no idea what tired was until Davis came along.  I loved that people wanted to come by and visit, but sometimes I just needed to rest.  I am not one to be rude so I would graciously invite them in and try to stay awake while my stomach growled.

So, when some friends of ours had their second baby boy 2 weeks ago we knew that we wanted to do something for them without putting a burden on their time.  I signed up on the church list to be on the rotation to bring food.  Pampers had already sent the box of diapers so I planned on dropping food, diapers and a note.  Matthew and I planned this out the day before and thought we had a pretty good plan in place.  I made chicken salad, mini muffins and brought a few croisants.  I remember needed quick foods on hand and thought that this would be good for them to munch on whenever they needed it.  Besides, the chicken salad had been taste tested by Graham so I figured it was a safe bet with her 4 year old.  And what kid doesn’t like mini muffins?

The day of the “ditch” arrived and we crept up to their house. Matthew was going to back in at first, but their car was blocking the door.  The two outside dogs must have been familiar with us because they didn’t bark (whew)!  I grabbed all of the goodies out of the car and placed them out the porch as quietly as I could, knocked on the door and ran!  Problem is she was watching us the entire time!  Oh well, in the end she knew we had good intentions and we even got to sneak a peek of the precious new baby.  True to our plan, we did not hang out.  Just gave hugs and congrats and let them go about their business of eating and resting!

I was also sent some diaper and wipe vouchers from Pampers and decided to give those to a brand new mom-to-be that doesn’t live as close.  I was happy to be able to do something small for her that I know will help in a major way.

So, I hope this encourages you to do something for a neighbor or friend.  Who knows just how much a simple box of diapers could bless them.

I am a part of the Pampers Baby Board and Pampers and vouchers were supplied for this idea.  I received no compensation.

  1. OMGosh I’m giggling over her watching… But really that is so sweet of you to drop off and know that visits are great but sleep is better :)

I have heard of the Diaper Ditch and I think it’s a really sweet idea. The only problem is all my prego friends are on the east coast! But I do have a friend here that just found out she’s prego. So I will do this for her in about 8 months ;-)

  3. That’s funny she was watching the whole time, lolol

I like the drop and ditch idea. rest and food… nice gifts. :)

  4. I just love this idea! I always give diapers and food to new moms so I will have to make a note of this one for the next person I know locally that gives birth. So fun!
