Keeping my kids healthy always has to equal doing something fun. Why? Well, I want them to associate fun and healthy together so that they are more likely to keep on having fun.
With that said, there are a few activities that we enjoy together as a family. When we have gorgeous weather I really love to have the boys outside. We are so blessed with a husband/daddy that has built some very wonderful things outside. We honestly could just stay here all day and be just fine! The three things they enjoy the most are riding bikes, swimming in the pool and playing in the sand box. I think I spent the summer rotating the three of these and kept them happy and worn out at nap time!
We also love to have fun adventures as you well know if you’ve been reading here for any time. We enjoy our beautiful mountains and love to visit the Biltmore Estate. We always find something new every time we visit. It has almost become a little mission to try a new spot when we go.
But, before we can have any fun, we have to make sure to fuel up! Davis is a bit small to really enjoy cereal, but Graham definitely has cereal for a few of his breakfast meals. Honey Bunches of Oats is one that has become a new favorite since we were sent a box the other day. Honestly, I didn’t know how he would respond to it, but he loves it. Other favorites are oatmeal, waffles, eggs and bacon.
So, we enjoy activities outdoor and make them fun and memorable and make sure to fill up well in the morning. What do you do to make being healthy fun for your kids?
