For those of you who do not know Amy I want you to take a second to find her and follow her on Twitter, Facebook and especially Instagram! The girl just feels like home. You know what I mean by that, right? Someone you have never met in person but you feel sure that you would be instant besties? That’s Amy. I can’t remember when I first started reading her blog and website MomAdvice.com, but it has been one that is in my frequent visits for several years now. If you are like me and enjoy simple things, crafting and saving then you will enjoy her site and you will LOVE her new book: The Good Life For Less.
I had the entire book read during the boys’ nap one day because it was full of practical advice that just made good sense. I found myself nodding right along with it on almost every page and also found myself rethinking a few things we do in our own family. Things like taking a month of no spending! You heard me. Amy challenged her family to a month of no spending with amazing results. She provided all of the details in The Good Life for Less and I think it is worth a try. I am also a fan of her homemade fancy coffee recipes in order to save bucks on the “Bucks” if you know what I mean!
If you are worried that this book may make you feel bad about yourself please erase that from your mind. This isn’t a book that was created to make you feel guilty or unworthy, but to inspire you and share a true story of trial and error. I think we can all relate to that. Amy is so down to earth and she offers up tips that are feasible, not things that feel like they are out of your reach. For example, you don’t have to be an extreme couponer in order to save at the grocery store. I have never been a huge coupon person, but I can relate to Amy in that I spend about $50-$75 per week on groceries just by taking an inventory of what we have on hand and making a list and sticking to it! Amy offers you even more tips on how to save more with a few different easy methods.
Need some go to recipes that are frugal? The Good Life for Less is full of many of Amy and her family’s favorites! Another great tip she shares is to always have eggs on hand. So true! Kids love them and they can be a quick meal when you are in a pinch saving you dollars by not eating out. Need help organizing? The Good Life for Less not only offers you tips on keeping it together, but how to make your house feel like a home for less with free and cheap decorating ideas.
Today is the day, my friends, to purchase The Good Life for Less! I’m sure you will not be disappointed. I only wish someone had gifted this to me 12 years ago when I was a newlywed. I know what all the lovely newlyweds in our lives will be receiving! Purchase The Good Life for Less for $10.20 on Amazon.

Sounds like a great book I love getting tips and tricks from other real moms who I know are actually living the advice not pros who hire someone to do the things they are telling us to do! Off to order from Amazon thanks!

Yes! My thoughts exactly. It is so refreshing to hear from moms like us {which is why I think so many of us blog and love to read them}.

I love reading books like this that inspire me! And I like that it is from a mom’s perspective. Too often the “so called” experts have tips that are unrealistic or are make you feel guilty for not living up to expectations. TY for the book recommendation. I’ll have to check it out!
