A Monster Jam Birthday Party for a 6 Year Old Sweetheart

April 16, 2013 by Felicia

Yes, this is the second time we have had a monster truck themed party for Graham.  He enjoys them and I can’t quite blame him.  The older he has gotten the more he knows about the individual trucks.  He actually knows a lot about the original Big Foot (if you know him ask him).

We were sent several items from the Monster Jam 3D line from Birthday Express for Graham’s birthday this past weekend.  They were perfect and added just the right touches for his special day.  The plates, cups and napkins all featured some of the more popular Monster Jam trucks as well as the mylar balloons.  We are still using the super cool centerpiece!  It was a hit.  Graham even asked if it was one of his presents.  The cool part about all of the items is that they can be viewed with 3D glasses and give the illusion of trucks popping out at you.  Of course, if you don’t have 3D glasses the items still look very nice (I was worried they would have a blurry look).  This is great because your average adult does not want to walk around a birthday party with 3D glasses on.

I made Graham’s cake again this year with his specific instructions.  He wanted my “famous” chocolate raspberry cake with two monster trucks on top.  He even demonstrated how they should be positioned on the top.  Oh, word of warning, do not let your child look over your shoulder as you browse Monster Truck cake ideas on Pinterest.  Not a good idea.  There were some VERY elaborate cakes, one with actual shooting flames (using who knows what) that he really wanted me to make.  I informed him that we would have no pyrotechnics in our home and he was a little bummed.  This momma is not trying to burn down her house!  He got it.

Overall, we had a relaxed day with close friends and family members and Graham enjoyed quite a bit of outdoor play time which always makes for a super sleepy kid at the end of the day!

This product was provided free of charge by Birthday Express. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.
