5 Reasons Why Office 365 is Great For Work At Home Moms

When I first started this blog I had no idea what direction it would eventually head in.  For that matter, who knows where it will be in 4 more years?  All I know is that it has opened up so many doors for our family and has allowed us to stretch ourselves in ways we never thought possible.  We are always on the go with something Go Graham Go related and I often find myself away from my comfortable home office set up.  It became clear to me last year that I was going to need to find other ways to stay connected to my “office” with all of the running around I was doing.  With that said, Office 365 has definitely become an option worth looking in to.

Here are 5 reasons why Office 365 is a great choice for you if you are a work at home mom who finds herself on the go:

Reason #1: Access to everything on the go.

How many of you can relate to hurriedly saving items to your email before you head out of town to an event?  There have been dozens of times when I have been away at a blogger event and have had to call home for my husband to quickly email an important document I have stored on my computer at home.  With the cloud technology you no longer have to make those emergency phone calls.  You simply access the Office 365 site, log in and start working or printing.  Not only does this make your husband happy, but you can leave feeling relieved that you have everything you need right at your finger tips even if your PC is hundreds of miles away.

Reason #2: Multi-Platform Capabilities.


Even though I own an HP for my business computer, I rely upon my iPhone and iPad for everything on the go.  If you ask me the one thing I will not leave home without it is my iPhone.  The problem is that if I wanted to access my documents from Microsoft Office (Word, Excel or Power Point) I would not be able to do so seamlessly.

With Office 365 I not only have access to Microsoft Office, I have access to my files.  Now I can open up the cloud and work on my Excel spreadsheets straight from my iPad.  What if you own a Droid?  As long as you own a device that can access the Internet then you have access to Microsoft 365.  This is not only a time saver, but it makes life so much more convenient.

Reason #3: Room for growth on a budget.


Go Graham Go continues to grow and with that comes the possibility of needing to hire someone to help.  If you are the sole owner and operator of your work at home business (like many bloggers) you always need to think about the reality that you may need to seek help as your site or business grows.  With that, you are not going to want to purchase an entire Microsoft Office for this person at an extremely high price tag.  Office 365 offers you access to all of these tools and the ability to share items easily for only $6 per month as well as the option of adding up to 50 different people.  If that person you hire heads on his or her merry way, you can easily add another person and not be out the expense!  Small businesses need all of the help they can get financially!  In my opinion, this is saving you valuable dollars.

Reason #4: Always up to date.

It seems like about every 3 years Microsoft Office has an update.  If you would like to benefit from that update you are going to spend major money.  With Office 365 you will always have the most up to date version of Microsoft Office for an extremely low price tag.  Even if you do not currently own a version of Office on your computer you can use Office 365 and save yourself the expense.

Reason #5: Built-in support and community.

If you are a work at home mom you are in charge of everything.  I have spent countless hours late at night searching for answers to technical questions on the Internet.  Chances are, if you are a work at home mother you are also the only one working.  What I am trying to say is it is up to you to do everything and that can be an overwhelming thought.  With Office 365 you can access the community, post in the forum and receive helpful answers from other users as well as technical support personnel.  What a relief to know that you don’t have to shell out even more money to find the answers you need in a timely manner!

So, what are your thoughts?  For $6 per month I really am hard pressed to find a cheaper solution for managing a small business.
